Manchester United were handed a 2-0 defeat at the London Stadium by West Ham United, making it four games without scoring a goal for Erik Ten Hag’s side. The Red Devils have now lost more than 13 games in the same season before Christmas for the first time in 93 years.
And as a result of the loss, the pressure keeps building on Ten Hag, owing to the lack of results. They are currently 8th in the table with 28 points from 18 games and have also been eliminated from the Champions League, finishing at the bottom of their group.
Manchester United continue dismal run with 2-0 loss to West Ham
After being thrashed 3-0 by Bournemouth at Old Trafford, United lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich, surprisingly held Liverpool to a 0-0 draw at Anfield before losing to West Ham United.
They face an in-form Aston Villa next, and they will be heading into the match with a real chance of coming out on the wrong end of the scoreline. And the growing injury list doesn’t help their case either.
The pressure is now building on Erik Ten Hag to deliver results, considering the investment made in the squad this summer. And like Chelsea, they don’t have much to show for their season so far.
If things don’t change in the coming months, Manchester United could be headed for their worst season in a long time. But with 20 games to go, there is ample time for Erik Ten Hag to turn things around and secure a top four finish as well.
