Eintracht Frankfurt have agreed a deal with Manchester United to sign Donny van de Beek on loan for the remainder of the 23/24 season. The player also had interest from LaLiga side Girona, but since Eintracht’s offer was better, they have gone ahead and finalised the deal with the Premier League club.

The move has been given the here we go signal by Fabrizio Romano, meaning it is only a matter of time before it is made official. United will receive a small loan fee for the move, clearing out yet another fringe player.

Donny van de Beek to join Eintracht Frankfurt in January transfer window

Eintracht will have the option to make the move permanent by paying a transfer fee worth €15 million. However, it is not an obligation, meaning they might choose to send the player back after his loan spell.

A verbal agreement is in place between the two clubs, and the move will be made official once the formalities have been completed in January.

Donny van de Beek has endured a frustrating three years at Old Trafford after signing from Ajax. A lot was expected from the Dutchman, especially after the arrival of his former manager Erik Ten Hag, but he has remained on the bench for the most part, barely being given any opportunity to play.

Now, he will have the chance to revive his career once again in a league better suited to his technical capabilities.
