Paul Pogba could be facing a four-year ban from football as per the appeal by Italy’s Anti-Doping Tribunal, following his positive test for testosterone. The Frenchman has been sidelined from the first team ever since he failed his doping test in August.

The midfielder came under fire after testosterone was discovered in his system after the August 20 game against Udinese. He did not start the game, but was present on the bench. A second round of testing has also not given the player any respite, and he has decided against a settlement for the case to be brought into court.

Paul Pogba facing four-year ban from football after doping trial

“We are doing everything we have to do. Those who know Paul know what has happened. They know that Paul is an honest, correct person and that he always does things with integrity. He is living it with confidence and professionalism. He trains all the time and only thinks about getting through these difficult moments to come back,” Paul Pogba’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta said.

The former France international signed for Juventus as a free agent last summer, but his contribution was limited due to repetitive injuries. Now, he has been hit with another roadblock in the form of the failed doping test.

The verdict from the trial will decide whether or not the 30-year-old will be forced to end his career prematurely. And with the Tribunal seeking the maximum punishment of four years for Pogba, things don’t look good right now for the World Cup winner.
