OnePlus is gearing up to introduce its latest 5G smartphone, the OnePlus 12, in China on December 5. The BBK-owned company has been providing glimpses of the phone’s specifications through teasers on Weibo. MySmartPrice has spotted the OnePlus 12R 5G in various certifications, including China Quality Certification (CQC), indicating a possible launch in India under the OnePlus 12R moniker.
The Rumored OnePlus Ace 3
This move follows the OnePlus rebranding of the OnePlus Ace 2 as the OnePlus 11R 5G in India and other international markets. Reports suggest that OnePlus might unveil the Ace 3 in China sooner, hinting at an earlier release. A leak has suggested a launch date for the OnePlus 12 5G in India on January 23, while a Chinese retailer’s website points to a December 17 debut for the upcoming OnePlus Ace smartphone.
WHYLAB, a reliable Weibo tipster, has disclosed that OnePlus will premiere the Ace smartphone in China in December before a global launch. In the past, OnePlus introduced the Ace 2 and OnePlus 11R 5G simultaneously in the Indian and Chinese markets.
A leaked screenshot from a Chinese retailer indicates a launch date of December 17 for the device. CQC certification for the OnePlus Ace 5G reveals support for 100W wired fast charging. Camera FV 5 certification details a triple rear camera setup, including a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 32MP telephoto lens. The selfie shooter boasts a 16MP sensor.
MySmartPrice previously spotted the Ace 3 on GeekBench, showcasing the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, with a single-core score of 1597 and a multi-core score of 5304. The device will offer up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. In China, it will run on ColorOS 14 based on Android 14, while the global variant will ship with Oxygen OS 14 based on Android 14. OnePlus has confirmed features like a 1.5K resolution AMOLED screen, a metal frame, and a gunmetal grey-glass body. The OnePlus 12R is scheduled for a global and Indian launch on January 23, 2023.
