Why the sudden silence in the OnePlus realm? Today, out of the blue, the company dropped a hint about a new speaker, catching many off guard, especially those accustomed to the constant hum of leaks and rumors in the tech world. It’s quite astonishing, considering the usual scenario where a device’s details are laid bare well before its official launch, thanks to an array of leaks and rumors.

Interestingly, some leaks are strategically orchestrated by the brands themselves. But let’s refocus on the matter at hand – OnePlus has managed to keep the lid on their latest speaker so well that the public had no inkling until the company itself decided to make the revelation.

The Upcoming Speaker From OnePlus

Now, turning the attention to the speakers, OnePlus has chosen a unique platform to announce its latest creation – a half-page advertisement nestled in the sports section of the TOI newspaper. The ad beckons readers with the question, “Got the music in you?” and follows up with the enticing tagline, “The wonder of music meets the power of tech.”

The advertisement showcases an elegant design featuring transparent glass paired with a sturdy metal stand. A prominent display reveals various music modes, encompassing R&B, Hip hop, Pop, Trap, Rock, and EDM. Notably, a discernible 5-woofer setup is also apparent. As of now, details about the speaker’s name, launch date, or pricing remain elusive. The only certainty is that it is “#ComingSoon,” as teased in the newspaper ad.

Interestingly, the spotlight has also been on a speaker teased by Carl Pei’s brand, Nothing, the former head of OnePlus. True to Nothing‘s style, the emphasis seems to be on an avant-garde design. While there are no official confirmations about the design, a leaked image suggests an unconventional look resembling the front of a washing machine at first glance. The leaked image might not provide much clarity, but it aligns with Nothing’s penchant for distinctive and unconventional design choices.
