Chicharito Hernandez has confirmed that he will not be returning to LA Galaxy and is on the hunt for a new club. The Mexican spent three years with the MLS franchise, but his final year was cut short after he suffered an ACL injury in June and the club decided to overhaul their roster, letting go of the forward as well.

In 83 games for the Galaxy, the striker scored 39 goals and provided 7 assists across all competitions. However, his departure proved to be on a rather sour note as his club finished second last in the Western Conference.

  • “I’m evaluating projects in MLS, Europe, Mexico and also Saudi Arabia.” The Mexican added: “I came back stronger, more resilient and eager to continue enjoying football. My knee is great.”

Alongside Hernandez, Jonathan Klinsmann, defenders Tony Alfaro, Calegari, Kelvin Leerdam and midfielder Uri Rosell have all been removed from the roster as the club plans a rebuild on the back of a disappointing season.

It is unclear where the 35-year-old will play next as of yet, with several clubs rumoured as possible destinations. A return to Europe looks unlikely, though, with Saudi Arabia emerging as a possible destination for the Mexican to close out his career.
