Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh is looking to become the first Indian player to feature in Australia’s premier T20 competition, Big Bash League [BBL]. Yuvraj has last played in IPL for Mumbai Indians.

BCCI does not allow any active player to play in an overseas league. But 38-year-old Yuvraj has retired from both international and domestic cricket last year. He last played for India in 2017.

Yuvraj Singh has represented India in 304 ODI, 40 Tests, and 58 T-20 matches from 2000 to 2017. The all-rounder has scored 8701 runs in ODIs besides taking 111 wickets for India.

He has won the World Cup with India in 2011 in which he became the ‘Man of the Tournament’. He has also won the T-20 world cup in 2007.

Australian Cricketers’ Association president Shane Watson said, “Inclusion of Indian players to BBL will be incredible.”

“It would be incredible for them to be able to play in these tournaments. That is the ideal situation. There are so many world-class T-20 players in India that aren’t playing for India that could be potentially available to play in the Big Bash and other tournaments around the world.” Watson added.

According to a report in ‘Sydney Morning Herald’, Yuvraj Singh’s manager Jason Warne has confirmed that Cricket Australia is searching for a suitable team for the Indian all-rounder.

Warne said, “We’re working with CA to try to find him a home.”

Yuvraj Singh has always been known as a hard-hitter. He has a record of hitting 6 sixes in an over against England in the 2007 T-20 World Cup. T-20 format has always also a favourite format of him. He can be very successful in BBL as well.

It’s a great news for all the ‘Yuvi’ fans. Hope we all can see him in BBL soon.
