Barcelona are considering a second loan spell for Joao Felix to try and sign him permanently in 2025. This is one of the options that the club could undertake, other than paying the transfer fee in instalments.Â
Atletico Madrid have quoted a transfer fee worth €80 million to part ways with their record signing, after he forced a transfer to Barcelona this summer. However, the Blaugranes don’t want to spend that kind of money on one player and are looking to bring down the selling price of Atletico Madrid.Â
Joao Felix to Barca permanent transfer: €80m fee quoted by AtleticoÂ
An instalment process would see Barcelona pay around €25 million over a set duration to finalise the Portugal international’s permanent signing. But, owing to their well-documented financial woes in recent months, it will be difficult to work around the strict financial rules to register him.
The sale of Ousmane Dembele this summer will certainly provide a cash injection worth around €50 million. And if the club can register their new man for a similar amount, it should help them cope better financially.
However, negotiating with Atletico Madrid could prove to be challenging since they might not be open to another loan for him. Barcelona have the upper hand in discussions since the player forced the transfer and doesn’t want to feature for the Rojiblancos again.
He has hit the ground running for Xavi’s side since joining them, and seems like he could be worth the investment if Barca decide to spend big once again.
