Luis Guilherme joins a long list of Brazilian wonderkid to attract interest from Europe, and as many as five major clubs including Manchester United have sent their scouts to watch the forward. He was a part of the Brazil squad that won the Sudamericano Sub-20, which also consisted of captain Andrey Santos and Vitor Roque – both top scorers in the tournament.
Santos was snapped up by Chelsea shortly after his Golden Boot winning performance and has now been loaned out to Nottingham Forest to gain experience. On the other hand, Roque has been signed by Barcelona and is expected to join them in the January transfer window.
Luis Guilherme: The next wonderkid from Brazil?
The midfielder is still only 17 years old, and even if a club signs him now, he won’t be able to travel to Europe until he turns 18 in February. Palmeiras have already agreed a future sale for Endeick with Real Madrid, and could do the same with Luis Guilherme.
He is primarily a wide midfielder and prefers using his left foot to shoot while on the right wing. But, the skillful player can feature on either flank and has a brilliant first touch that allows him to control the ball in tight situations.
Manchester City and Real Madrid have also registered their interest in the winger, but no club is close to signing Luis Guilherme yet. Although young, he is showing increasingly positive signs that he could succeed at a higher level when given the opportunity.
