Despite having state-of-the-art semiconductors, many of Apple users have complained that the latest iPhone models have begun overheating just a week after their debut. According to the Financial Times, customers who purchased the iPhone 15 Pro and its bigger Pro Max model turned to internet forums, like as Reddit and numerous social media sites, to complain that their gadgets had grown too hot to handle.

On Apple’s community site, over 2,000 users have mentioned having overheating problems.

While some purchasers of the iPhone 15 did not experience the problem, others blamed it on the use of cheap charging cords, extensive use of video or gaming applications, or a brief spike in processing during the initial configuration of the device.

According to the Financial Times, Apple’s customer help pages warn that playing “graphics-intensive or processor-intensive apps” or utilizing wireless charging while setting up an iPhone “might get warm” the device.

The Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), which provides chips to Apple, Nvidia, and numerous other Silicon Valley companies, has developed the new 3nm semiconductor technology, which is used in the iPhone 15 Pro, the first mass-market consumer product to use it.

In a previous note, Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at TF International Securities who is renowned for his knowledge of Apple’s supply chain, stated that overheating problems were probably “unrelated to TSMC’s advanced 3nm node.”

Apple could be able to fix the issue with a software update, but this could have an impact on how well the iPhones function, according to Kuo. Sales may suffer if the problem is not properly resolved, as livemint previously stated.
