BTS suga member Min Yoongi, known by his phase name Suga, upset fans as he began his compulsory military service today. Following his band members’ footsteps, Jin, besides J-Hope, the BTS Suga rapper, decided to quit music and join the South Korean military. While no formal send-off was hosted for him, Suga left his fans in tears as he kept an emotional note.
On Thursday, BTS Suga took to Weverse and engraved an emotional note in Korean. A BTS fan going by the handle @BTStranslation_ translated his message into English on Twitter.
Suga wrote, ‘Hello. This is Suga. I am writing to give you all my greetings! I’ve been able to come here so far in place of the Army, you all. And now the time has come.”
He added, “I’ll come after concluding my service well, sincerely. Beware of the chilly weather since the season is changing to autumn. Let’s keep being healthy, and let us all meet in 2025! ARMY!!!! Always, thank you and love you (smiling face emoji).”
Fans react to Suga’s open goodbye. As soon as the post went up, BTS fans uttered their emotions. While some were left sad by Suga linking the military, others wished him well.

No official see-off for BTS Suga
Earlier this week, BigHit Music publicized Suga would start his mandatory military drill on September 22. With no formal see-off hosted for the BTS Suga rapper, the agency urged fans not to call Suga at his workplace.
Issuing a statement, the music activity wrote, ‘There will not be any official events taking place on the day he jumps his service or the day he enters the training camp. We kindly ask fans to refrain from visiting Suga at his workplace during the period of his service. Satisfy convey your warm regards and encouragement in your hearts only.’
Other BTS members, RM, Jimin, and V, besides Jungkook, will also join the mandatory military service. They are possible to reconvene as a group in 2025.
