In terms of performance, AMD’s Radeon RX 7800 XT isn’t significantly better than its predecessor, but it’s good enough to compete with Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 4070, which is why some graphics card manufacturers and dealers are slashing prices on bespoke GeForce RTX 4070 cards by $50 in the United States.

GeForce RTX 4070 graphics cards from Asus, Gigabyte, and Zotac are currently available for $549 through Amazon.com, BestBuy, B&H Photo Video, and Newegg.

The MSRP of Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 4070 is $599, while AMD’s Radeon RX 7800 XT is $499. Despite being less expensive, AMD’s solution occasionally beats its more expensive rival in many rasterization-dependent titles, with performance comparable to the competitor in some ray tracing-supporting games as well. This surely adds to AMD’s product’s value, earning it a spot on our list of the top graphics cards.

I think that thse GPU manufacturers might have partnered with select merchants in order to provide $50 off certain GeForce RTX 4070 units. However, it is unclear whether this is a one-time promotion or if other manufacturers and retailers would join in and keep the base price at $549 indefinitely.

Regardless, it appears that Nvidia is not quietly lowering the recommended price of its GeForce RTX 4070 graphics cards. The official MSRP remains $599, while the RTX 4060 Ti is $399 and the 4060 Ti 16GB is $499. With the arrival of AMD’s Navi 32 GPUs, you can now find all three of those RTX cards for less than their individual MSRPs.
