AC Milan have signed Luka Jovic on loan from Fiorentina, with no fee involved for the player to join. There is no buy option included in the deal, and it is a straight loan meaning the player will return to Fiorentina next year once his loan spell expires.
The striker’s arrival has been officially confirmed by the Rossoneri, and he will be wearing the number 15 shirt at his new club. He has been signed as the backup to Olivier Giroud, with the Frenchman still Stefano Pioli’s first-choice striker.
Luka Jovic signs for AC Milan on loan from Fiorentina
Things have gone downhill for the striker after he failed to solidify his place at Real Madrid. He joined Los Blancos from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2019, but was unable to perform when given the opportunity and was eventually loaned back to Frankfurt before joining Fiorentina for free in 2022.
For La Viola, he has played 50 games and scored 13 goals while providing five assists across all competitions. The numbers have been steadily improving, and he could finally rediscover his form at AC Milan. At 25, he has a couple of years to go before his physical peak, and he could get things back on track if his loan move works out.
Milan have let go of Divorce Origi to Nottingham Forest only one year after he signed from Liverpool as a free agent. The Belgian was unable to perform as a backup to Giroud, and has now been replaced by Luka Jovic.
