Manchester City are closing in on a transfer for Rennes winger Jeremy Doku. The 21-year-old has also attracted interest from West Ham United, who are trying to hijack the deal for the Belgian with City currently ahead.

The youngster has agreed personal terms with City for a transfer this summer. But, they need to find an agreement with Rennes over the transfer fee and the structure of the deal in order to get their man. Doku would be the replacement for Riyad Mahrez, who left City this summer to join Al Ahli in Saudi Arabia.

The winger has spent three years with Rennes, having joined them in 2020 for €26 million as their most expensive signing of all-time. Since then, he has grown into a reliable first team member and has shown immense talent with his pace, dribbling and creativity in the box highlighted as some of his defining qualities.

Rennes have reportedly set a price tag worth €50 million for their player and it remains to be seen whether City will match it.

The treble winners are also in talks with West Ham United for Lucas Paqueta. The Brazilian has agreed terms for a move to Manchester, but West Ham United have knocked back a £70 million verbal bid for their man. They are in talks with City over a potential deal as things stand.

Doku would be the third new signing for the Sky Blues after Mateo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol.
