Voot Website Redirects to JioCinema: Merger Edges Closer to the Finish Line

The news of JioCinema and Voot’s merger has been making headlines for the past few months. The merger is set to integrate Voot into JioCinema, which has also undergone a revamp, introducing new and premium content. While there were initial rumors of the merger’s confirmation after IPL 2023, it has not yet received official confirmation. Nevertheless, recent developments indicate that the merger’s conclusion is imminent, as evident from voot.com redirecting to the JioCinema website.

JioCinema and Voot merging

The process of integration seems to be well underway, as both the voot.com website and the app now redirect users to JioCinema. This redirect strongly indicates that the JioCinema-Voot merger is nearly complete. Additionally, the Voot app has been removed from both the Google Play Store and App Store, making it impossible to download it any longer.

JioCinema has initiated the process of aiding Voot users in transitioning to their platform by providing a transfer code that allows them to seamlessly transfer their profiles to JioCinema. Even Voot Select users have been offered a promo code for JioCinema Premium membership, which was launched in May at an attractive price of ₹999 per year, offering access to Hollywood content. The merger ensures that there will be no loss of content, as all Voot shows and movies will be fully available on JioCinema.

This merger is a crucial part of Jio’s ambitious plan to become the leading streaming platform in the country. JioCinema has been actively securing major deals, including one with Warner Bros. Discovery, granting access to popular HBO shows. Additionally, JioCinema has inked a significant deal with NBCUniversal, bringing shows like The Office and Parks and Recreation to its platform.

Jio has further expanded its offerings by securing the streaming rights for IPL for a five-year period, making it an appealing destination for cricket enthusiasts across the nation. Now, with Voot’s extensive TV programming and Bollywood content under its umbrella, JioCinema is poised to offer a wealth of content to its subscribers, strengthening its position in the Indian streaming market. As the merger nears completion, users can expect a seamless transition and an even more robust and diverse content library to explore on the JioCinema platform.
