Following the successful launch of the Galaxy S23 lineup in February, Samsung is wasting no time as evidence suggests that development work on the highly anticipated Galaxy S24 series has already commenced, a mere four months later.

The latest revelation comes in the form of leaked codenames, providing a glimpse into Samsung’s ongoing efforts. While rumors circulate regarding the potential discontinuation of the ‘Plus’ variant, the Korean giant appears to be focusing on three flagship models for the upcoming year.

Samsung Galaxy S24

Everything about the Samsung Galaxy S24 is Known So Far!

Internally referred to as ‘Muse,’ the codename associated with the Galaxy S24 lineup, it remains unclear whether this designation applies to a single model or encompasses the entire series. Reliable insider sources from GalaxyClub and Sammobile have corroborated the information that Samsung has adopted the codename ‘Muse’ for its highly anticipated Galaxy S24 series. It is worth noting that last year’s Galaxy S23 series was codenamed ‘Diamond,’ a term that was universally applied to all three models. Thus, it is highly likely that ‘Muse’ will similarly represent the forthcoming trio. While specifics regarding the 2024 Android flagship remain undisclosed, earlier rumors have been circulating in the tech community.

Among the rumors, one intriguing speculation revolves around the possibility of discontinuing the Galaxy S24 Plus variant. Should Samsung proceed with this plan, the question arises as to what alternative model would fill its place, or whether the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Ultra will be the sole offerings. As is often the case during this early stage, concrete details are scarce, leaving room for speculation and anticipation. A significant point of discussion pertains to whether Samsung will reintroduce a high-end Exynos chipset to power its premium handset lineup in the coming year.

Qualcomm has already announced its Snapdragon Summit, scheduled for October 24, leading to assumptions that the company will unveil the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Additionally, there are indications of a possible collaboration between Qualcomm and Samsung, with the latter receiving an enhanced version of the upcoming SoC exclusively. Rumors suggest that Samsung’s next flagship silicon, the Exynos 2400, will outperform the M2, although it is wise to approach such claims with caution, given past experiences of exaggerated performance claims.

One potential reason for Samsung’s consideration of the Exynos 2400 for the Galaxy S24 series is the potential cost associated with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Speculations indicate that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is rumored to be sold to Qualcomm’s phone partners for $160, surpassing the price of Apple’s A16 Bionic chip.

Consequently, it is expected that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will command an even higher price, potentially impacting Samsung’s profit margins. This situation may prompt Samsung to leverage its in-house Exynos 2400 chip to mitigate financial losses. However, it is crucial to emphasize that these are preliminary assessments, and further updates are anticipated in the future as more information becomes available.

As Samsung embarks on the development journey for the Galaxy S24 series, technology enthusiasts eagerly await further details regarding its features, specifications, and launch timeline. With Samsung’s track record of innovation and consumer-centric design, the Galaxy S24 series is poised to make a significant impact in the ever-evolving smartphone landscape.
