Intel has unveiled a significant update to its client compute branding, introducing the new Intel Core Ultra and Intel Core processor brands with the launch of the upcoming Meteor Lake processors.
Intel Announces Major Brand Update Ahead of Upcoming Meteor Lake Launch
This revamped branding structure includes several notable changes, such as the introduction of the Intel Core Ultra processor brand for advanced client processors and the simplification of the Intel Core processor brand for mainstream offerings.
The tiering of processors will now be denoted by Intel 3/5/7/9, starting with the next-generation processors. Additionally, the Intel Evo Edition platform brand will evolve for Evo-verified designs, and commercial systems will feature the Intel vPro Enterprise and Intel vPro Essentials device labels.
The introduction of the Meteor Lake processors marks a significant milestone in Intel’s client processor roadmap, with advancements in manufacturing, power efficiency, graphics performance, and the inclusion of Intel AI Boost. These branding updates aim to facilitate customer identification of the right client solutions while highlighting the enduring legacy of the Intel Core brand in the PC industry.
