Arne Slot has signed a new contract with Feyenoord, putting an end to the rumours linking him with a switch to Tottenham. The 44-year-old’s new deal runs until 2026. He led the team to the 22/23 Eredivisie title after fending off strong competition from PSV this year. And now, he is expected to continue with them for the next three years.

The manager’s previous contract had a release clause worth £5 million, active in 2024, which Spurs did not want to clear. Talks were held regarding the project, but Slot has rejected the Premier League club in favour of a stay at Feyenoord.

“I have heard a lot about the interest of other clubs in me. I am grateful for the appreciation that this expresses, but my wish is to stay with Feyenoord and continue to build on the foundations that have been laid over the past two seasons. There are no transfer talks going on and there have been none and yesterday’s discussion was solely about a possible extension. All conversations with Feyenoord are only aimed at that. I look forward to the new season at Feyenoord,” Arne Slot confirmed recently.

Tottenham’s managerial search has not yielded any results as of yet. They have been linked with several names, including Julian Nagelsmann, but have been unable to secure a new name to lead them next season. They remain linked with former Spain and Barcelona manager Luis Enrique, who has been out of a job since after the World Cup.
