Samsung India‘s national education and innovation competition, Solve for Tomorrow, has received an impressive response from youth across the country, with over 50,000 registrations from various regions. Particularly, youth from smaller towns like Begusarai, Chitradurga, Dharwad, Gulbarga, Jalpaiguri, Khurda, North 24 Parganas, Madhubani, and Pathanamthitta have showcased their enthusiasm by submitting their ideas. These young participants demonstrate a growing desire to find innovative technology solutions that address real-world problems and have a positive social impact on people’s lives.

Top 3 Teams to Win INR 1.5 Crore in prize money
The top three teams in the competition will have an opportunity to win INR 1.5 crore to turn their ideas into actionable projects. Youths aged between 16 and 22 years can apply for Solve for Tomorrow until 5 pm on May 31, 2023, through the website www.samsung.com/in/solvefortomorrow.
This flagship CSR program by India’s leading electronics brand acknowledges the potential of innovative solutions in transforming lives. It invites ideas from youth across four key themes: Education & Learning, Environment & Sustainability, Health & Wellness, and Diversity & Inclusion.
As of now, 49% of ideas revolve around Education & Learning, while 28% focus on Environment & Sustainability. The theme of Health & Wellness accounts for 18% of applications, and 5% fall under Diversity & Inclusion. Among the applicants, 73% are in the age bracket of 18-22 years.
Youth from all over India have submitted their ideas to address real-world challenges such as e-waste management, recycling of marine plastic waste, circular economy, climate change, agricultural productivity, clean water access, healthcare affordability, mental health, accident prevention, improving education systems, and rural job creation.
Moving forward, Samsung India will shortlist the top 30 teams (individuals or teams of up to 3 members) from the received applications. These teams will undergo training and mentorship from Samsung and its partners, including the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT) at IIT Delhi and MeitY Startup Hub, during a residential bootcamp at IIT Delhi. This program aims to help participants refine their ideas.
The top 30 teams will receive INR 20,000 each to develop initial prototypes and present their ideas to a jury consisting of young Samsung employees and experts from FITT, IIT Delhi, and MeitY Startup Hub. The jury will select the top 10 teams for the final stage. Each of the top 10 teams will receive INR 100,000 to further enhance their prototypes based on feedback from the jury and mentors.
Moreover, these teams will have the opportunity to visit Samsung India offices, R&D centers, design center, and the Samsung Opera House in Bengaluru. They will have the chance to interact with young Samsung employees and researchers.
The program will culminate with the announcement of three national winners who will receive a prize of INR 1.5 crore and exciting Samsung products.
Solve for Tomorrow was initially launched in the US in 2010 and is now operational in 63 countries worldwide, with over 2.3 million young people participating to date.
