Intel Meteor Lake CPUs surfaces online in new benchmarks

Meteor Lake CPUs for laptops are likely to be released in the second half of this year, with a focus on high-performance and low-power products. It appears that laptop manufacturers have already obtained these chips and are testing their next designs. Two unannounced and unknown Intel CPUs have been discovered in the SiSoftware Sandra database, pointing to Meteor Lake designs.

These chips were discovered in OEM designs from HP and Dell. Based on the specifications, it appears that these are early Meteor Lake ES chips.

The first is a 16-core, 32-thread component with a base frequency of 3.07 GHz, a boost rate of up to 4.2 GHz, 18 MB of L2 cache, and 24 MB of L3 cache. These values are most likely incorrect, but the fact that it houses 128 EUs, which is only possible on Meteor Lake chips because Raptor Lake and Alder Lake Xe GPUs max out at 96 EUs and don’t operate at clock speeds above 2 GHz (2100 MHz in this case), is the easiest way to tell.

There hasn’t been a single 16-core chip in the ordinary P-series lineup, so if this is a Meteor Lake-HX part, it may offer 8 P-Cores and 12 E-Cores, however it seems very doubtful and we recommend waiting for more details before drawing any judgements. Having said that, Intel is already hard at work on its next-generation enthusiast-grade Arrow Lake-HX series.

What’s more intriguing is that SiSoftware lists the chip under the “Desktop” platform. This could be because the RVP (Reference Validation Platform) is more akin to a desktop computer than a laptop.

The second section is unquestionably a laptop SKU, as it appears on the next-generation Dell Inspiron 13 5330 design. This laptop’s Intel CPU has 14 cores, 28 threads, up to 3.26 GHz ES clock rates, 14 MB of L2 cache, and 16 MB of L3 cache. Again, these values may be inaccurate, so don’t give them any thought.
