Netflix has just revealed that the movie maker Hansal Mehta has provided to the upcoming character drama series Scoop. Mehta and Mrunmayee Lagoo Waikul, are also responsible for co-writing Thappad.

This had been inspired to write Scoop by Jigna Vora’s autobiographical book ‘Behind the Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison’. All the film remarked that after reading Vora’s book, he felt “compelled” to install the story for the big screen.

While they have primarily read the book, Sanjay Routray, producer at Matchbox Shots, said they realized the “inspirational story of grit and courage” deserved to be shared on a bigger medium. And now, they are ready with the show to be premiered.
