On May 9, 2023, MediaTek revealed the Dimensity 8050, a new mid-range CPU. It has an octa-core CPU with 4 performance Arm Cortex-A78 processors that can reach peak speeds of 3GHz and is built on a 6nm processor.
Although MediaTek advertises it as a brand-new model, architecturally it is comparable to the Dimensity 1300 and 1200. The Dimensity 8050 has dual-channel UFS 3.1 storage and quad-channel memory capability.
Dimensity 8050 will provide excellent gaming with dependable, high FPS
The Dimensity 8050, a 6nm process node chip from TSMC, has an octa-core design with a 5G modem. It includes four quick Cortex-A78 cores, including one Super Core that can operate at up to 3GHz and three Performance Cores that can operate at up to 2.6GHz. There are also four effective Cortex-A55 cores. The SoC supports UFS 3.1 storage and up to 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM, as was already mentioned.
The chipset features a potent Arm Mali-G77 GPU with nine graphics-specific cores. The Dimensity 8050 also supports 4K video capture, allowing for 200MP photo resolution and 20% faster night shooting than the preceding Dimensity series on mobile devices. Additionally, the SoC gives manufacturers the freedom to create smartphones with Full HD+ panels that can refresh at 168Hz or higher resolution QHD+ displays that can refresh at 90Hz. The processor also comes with MediaTek MiraVision, which offers a variety of HDR video playback and display technologies for an experience on par with a movie theatre.
The Arm Mali-G77 GPU, which has nine cores, is used for graphics processing by the Dimensity 8050. A maximum screen resolution of 2520×1080 pixels is also available. The Tecno Camon 20 Premier, which uses the new processor, has already been released. Beginning May 9, 2023, the device will be sold in Nigeria for a starting price of $450.
