Harry Kane is arguably the best Tottenham Hotspur player of the Premier League era, having cemented himself as their top scorer. And with his incredible volley against Liverpool, he reminded the world why he is one of the best in the sport.
The Spurs number 10 now has 25 goals this season, and has hit that figure for the fourth season in his career. He joins Alan Shearer as the only other player to have scored 25+ goals in the English top flight.
Harry Kane continues to break Premier League records
The striker also matched Wayne Rooney’s tally of 208 Premier League goals with his goal against Liverpool. Kane is likely to surpass the Manchester United legend within this season, and become the second highest scorer of all-time in the league.
Alan Shearer’s record of 260 goals is drawing incredibly near for the England captain. And if he continues in England, he could easily break the legendary record given the rate at which he is scoring right now.
At 29, he still has a few more seasons to play at the top level. However, his future has become increasingly uncertain given Tottenham’s disappointing performances across all competitions. With his contract expiring in 2024, there is a huge chance that Harry Kane could leave this summer, and join another top six club.
