6G Development: Chinese Research Institute shows amazing 6G results with 100Gbps of wireless speed

6G technology has already advanced remarkably, and here I am still wondering when my home town will get a stable 5G which atleast feels like 5G. According to the most recent research, a Chinese institution made enormous strides when its lab achieved 100Gbps 6G wireless data transfer speeds.

The 25th Institute of the Secondary Academy of China Aerospace Science and Industry carried out the most recent tests. On a terahertz level, which is regarded as one of the most crucial components of the standard, the breakthrough was made. If you’re not familiar, terahertz, or THz, offers a wider bandwidth, which translates to faster transmission rates and better performance for wireless signals.

Be aware that it might be a while before 6G is made available to the general public. According to test results, 100Gbps of wireless data transfer at 10GHz transmission bandwidth was successfully completed using wireless backhaul technology. The technology should provide latency that is less than that of optical fibre networks. Due to the lack of faster speeds, users currently favour wired fibre cables over wireless transmission.

THz bands will enable 6G to more easily compete with fibre networks.

In the end, wired networks would be a thing of the past. However, it is too soon to draw conclusions because the technology needs a lot of time and money to finally become a reality.

As for what we anticipate, 6G would finally allow for 1Tbps data transfer speeds, but this alone would not be sufficient as the standard requires improved spectrum. With that said, mmWave and higher THz frequency bands are also being updated for mobile communication.

5G is gradually gaining momentum to become the new standard, as was previously mentioned. Researchers would continue to test and improve the technology for an experience that is easily accessible by the end user until the standard is widely adopted. According to current predictions, 6G will be accessible by the year 2030. In addition, the United States is vying with China to introduce the technology.
