Skyesports League 2023 Brings Pokémon UNITE in a City-Based Format

Get ready, Indian Pokémon UNITE fans! The Skyesports League is back in 2023 with a brand new game joining the fray in the city-based IP. This year, eight city-based teams will compete for the title and a share of the massive Rs. 10,00,000 prize pool.

Skyesports League Returns With Pokémon UNITE Action In A City-Based Format

The Skyesports League is one of the most highly anticipated esports IPs in India due to its unique city-based format, which allows for regionalisation. The teams participating in the Skyesports League 2023 – Pokémon UNITE are the Bengaluru Crushers: Gods Reign, Mumbai Aces: S8UL, Hyderabad Nawabs: Marcos Gaming, Chennai Cluthchers: Revenant Esports, Pune Pros: GodLike Esports, Delhi Dragons: 7Sea Esports, Punjab Pinnacles: FS Esports, and Kolkata Tridents: True Rippers.

This year’s tournament will feature a few surprises, as each team will be fielding an influencer in their roster to add to the excitement. Fans can expect to see popular creators such as Mortal, 8Bit Mercy, Savage Girl Gaming, and Saumraj at the event.

The Skyesports League 2023 – Pokémon UNITE will take place across a league stage and playoffs from April 24 to May 10. In the League Stage, the teams will compete in a single round-robin format. The top four teams will then advance to the Playoffs to determine the first-ever Pokémon UNITE champions in the Skyesports League. The League Stage will occur from April 24 to May 7, while the Playoffs action will happen between May 8 and 10.

Fans can catch all the action live on the Skyesports YouTube channel in English and Hindi.

Shiva Nandy, Founder and CEO of Skyesports, expressed excitement over the return of the Skyesports League with Pokémon UNITE. He stated that the city-based format would ensure a deeper regional penetration for the title, which had quickly become one of the leading esports titles in India. Nandy also noted that the Skyesports League had successfully implemented this model before, citing the example of VALORANT in 2021, which remains the most-viewed single tournament for the PC title in India.

The Rs. 10,00,000 prize pool will be distributed as follows: the champion will receive Rs. 4,00,000, the runners-up will receive Rs. 2,50,000, 3rd place will receive Rs. 1,00,000, 4th place will receive Rs. 50,000, and 5th to 8th place will each receive Rs. 25,000.
