Domestic Cricket Prize Money: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently announced an increase in prize money for all domestic tournaments. This move is set to benefit hundreds of domestic cricketers who don’t participate in the lucrative Indian Premier League.

Here’s a breakdown of the new pay structure: BCCI Boosts Domestic Cricket Prize Money

  • Ranji Trophy: The winners will now receive INR 5 crore, a significant increase from the current INR 2 crore. The runners-up and losing semi-finalists will receive INR 3 crore and INR 1 crore, respectively.
  • Irani Cup: The winners will now get INR 50 lakh, which is double the previous prize money of INR 25 lakh. The runners-up will also receive INR 25 lakh.
  • Duleep Trophy: The champions will receive INR 1 crore, while the runners-up will get INR 50 lakh.
  • Vijay Hazare Trophy: The winners will receive INR 1 crore, and the team finishing second will receive INR 50 lakh.

  • Deodhar Trophy: The winners will receive INR 40 lakh, and the losing finalists will receive INR 20 lakh.
  • Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy: The champions will receive INR 80 lakh, and the losing team will get INR 40 lakh.
  • Senior Women’s One Day Trophy: The winners will get INR 50 lakh, and the runners-up will receive INR 25 lakh.
  • Senior Women’s T20 Trophy: The winners will receive INR 40 lakh, which is eight times more than their current prize money. The losing team will get INR 20 lakh.

These increases in prize money show that the BCCI is investing in domestic cricket, which is the backbone of Indian cricket. The 2023-24 domestic season will begin with the Duleep Trophy on June 28 for men, and the senior women’s 2023-24 season will start with the national T20 championships on October 19.
