Arsene Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson are the first two managers to be entered into the Premier League Hall of Fame. The two rivals defined an entire era of the English top flight with Manchester United and Arsenal feuding to be the top team in the country.
Sir Alex Ferguson is the most successful manager to have ever worked in the Premier League. He won 528 out of his 810 games, winning 13 titles with Manchester United. His time with the Red Devils is one for the history books, having been named the manager of the year eleven times during his career.
Premier League Hall of Fame 2023: The first two inductees announced
Arsene Wenger is a legend in his own right, having overseen the Gunners for 22 years, which is a record of its own. It was under his leadership that Arsenal last won the Premier League title. He remains the only manager to have gone through a season unbeaten, winning the league title in 2003/04.
During his time with the North London side, he won three league titles while establishing Arsenal as one of the top teams in the division.
The inclusion of the two legendary managers comes as a surprise, with only players being inducted into the Premier League hall of fame so far. A shortlist of nominees will be drawn up tomorrow to decide the three other inductees into the hall of fame class of 2023.
