The Argentine legend Lionel Messi has reached another milestone in his career by reaching 100 international goals, and he is the third person to achieve this feat. This is indeed a historic feat, which he shares with Cristiano Ronaldo, who has the most international goals with 122, and then Ali Daei with 109 goals.
Argentina’s forward was at 99 goals before Argentina’s match against Curacao. In the match, Lionel Messi registered 3 goals to his name, and along with that, Argentina secured a victory with a massive score of 7-0.

Fans once again got to witness the vintage form of Lionel Messi as he registered a stunning performance for his country against Curacao. He registered the first goal of the match as well for his country in the 20th minute. However, it was not a lone wolf game; rather, the team effort led the Argentines to secure this huge victory. Other players, including Nicolas Gonzalez, Enzo Fernandez, Angel Di Maria, and Gonzalo Montiel, scored goals too.
However, it was once again Lionel Messi who stole the show. He scored the second goal of the match at the 33rd minute and the next soon in the 37th minute. By that time, the game was already out of Curacao’s hands as Argentina was 5-0 by then.
The Argentine on the verge to break Ali Daei’s record
With these goals, Lionel Messi’s score of international goals has now been 102, which is only 7 goals behind Ali Daei’s record of 109. The Iranian international had his record for a long time until Ronaldo broke it, and no Messi is on his way to do the same. However, the goal is a bit away still, but if Messi plays in the form he is in right now, the all-time second most international goals will come to the third position soon.
