Manchester City have temporarily reached the top of the Premier League table by defeating Arsenal 3-1. The Gunners continued their winless run against City, with Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne and Jack Grealish all finding the back of the net in an entertaining clash.

Manchester City back to the top of the Premier League

Kevin De Bruyne ended his drop in form with the opening goal against Mikel Arteta’s men. The Belgian picked up on a stray back pass and made no mistake to beat Aaron Ramsdale, and open the scoring in the 24th minute.

However, a successful penalty converted by Bukayo Saka helped the home team equalise. The England international has now scored and assisted eight goals in the league, further adding to a brilliant season so far.

Another stray back pass from Arsenal saw De Bruyne pounce and feed it to Gundogan. The German set up Jack Grealish, whose low shot took a deflection and ended up in the back of the net to restore their lead.

Erling Haaland then added a third for the Sky Blues to end all hopes of a comeback for the hosts. The Norwegian has now scored 26 goals in the Premier League, making it 32 from 30 games across all competitions.

Arsenal have only earned one point from their last three games, and will have to turn things around quickly to restore their lead by a point. They have a game in hand on the Mancunian side, but their glorious run of form seems to have dried up right now.

On the other hand, Manchester City are back to their free-flowing best and have a slight advantage in the title race as things stand.
