Juventus full-back Danilo is set to renew his contract with the club in the coming days. The player himself confirmed that he would be signing on for an additional period beyond his current deal, and it is only a matter of time before it has been made official.
This season, he has been one of the most trusted defenders for Max Allegri. He has started all matches in Serie A except for one, and has worn the captain’s armband in nine games. As a result, he has stepped up as a leader on the pitch which has helped the rest of the team get back on track.
Danilo to renew contract with Juventus very soon
“The contract expires in 2024, there will be important news soon. I have faith in the club: it will even overcome this moment. I have played for Porto, Real and City, but only here do you understand that what you did up until the day before it is not enough,” Danilo told Tuttosport about his new deal.
The new contract that he will be signing runs until 2025, an extra year than his current deal. The 31-year-old has performed quite well this season, after spells at Manchester City and Real Madrid where he wasn’t exceptional.
His assertiveness on the pitch has been quite instrumental in their success this season. And in the absence of Bonucci, he is one of the senior players that can lead the team from the front.
