Wissam Ben Yedder was on target twice during Monaco’s 3-1 win over PSG in Ligue 1. The striker has now scored nine goals across all competitions against PSG, the most that any player has ever scored against them since the Qatari takeover.
The 32-year-old has now scored 14 goals in Ligue 1, and is leading the club from the front as their captain. His tally across all competitions is 19, which is still a remarkable return given his age.
Wissam Ben Yedder continues to prove he is an underrated star
For those who are familiar with the FIFA games, Wissam Ben Yedder has always been a very highly rated forward. However, he hasn’t been given as much attention in real life.
The Frenchman has been with Monaco since 2019, and has been shining ever since. But given PSG’s stronghold over the Ligue 1 title, the silverware hasn’t come often to show for his good performances.
The France national team has had a wealth of attacking options over the last few years. But, Wissam Ben Yedder has earned 19 caps for Les Bleus during his career, scoring three goals.
His current contract with Monaco runs out in June 2024, and negotiations over a new contract haven’t yielded a result yet. So, there is a chance that he could move on to an elite club a step above Monaco soon, if he doesn’t commit his future to the principality club.
