Moises Caicedo is asking to leave Brighton within the next few days. This comes on the back of bids from Chelsea and Arsenal, which were both turned down by the club.

The player has spoken out on his desire to play at a higher level, and wants to leave in the January transfer window itself. Arsenal bid £60 million for him, while Chelsea made an offer worth £55 million.

Moises Caicedo asks to leave Brighton immediately

“I am grateful to [Brighton owner] Mr. Bloom and Brighton for giving me the chance to come to the Premier League and I feel I have always done my best for them. I always play football with a smile and with heart,” Moises Caicedo said on social media on Friday.

“I am the youngest of 10 siblings from a poor upbringing in Santa Domingo in Ecuador. My dream always to be the most decorated player in the history of Ecuador.

“I am proud to be able to bring in a record transfer fee for Brighton which would allow them to reinvest it and help the club continue to be successful.”

“The fans have taken me into their hearts and they will always be in my heart so I hope they can understand why I want to take up this magnificent opportunity.”

Brighton have reportedly set a price tag of £90 million in order to let him leave in the next two days. And it seems unlikely that any team will pay that amount at this point. However, the player has not shown up for training and isn’t expected to play against Liverpool tomorrow, which could force Brighton to sell him even though they aren’t in favour of the move.
