The new AMD Ryzen 4000 processors have totally changed the game for AMD as for more OEMs are preferring the Red team simply because of its efficiency and performance. Their PRO processors for mobile are also great for business purposes and that’s why Lenovo has updated its famous ThinkPad T14 series with new Ryzen 4000 PRO APUs.
Both the ThinkPad T14 Gen 1 and ThinkPad T14s Gen 1 with AMD Ryzen 4000 PRO processors are now available to order on Lenovo’s website. The design of these laptops remain the same as predecessors and Intel counterparts, only difference being in the hardware.
ThinkPad T14
It features a 14.0-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS anti-glare display but with 250 nits of peak brightness. Although you can customize the laptop according to your needs so you can opt for the 300 nits touchscreen panel or 400 nits low power screen as well.
For processors, you can choose between the 6-core AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 4650U and 8-core Ryzen 7 PRO 4750U, both of them have SMT enabled for greater performance. You can choose from 8 GB DDR4 3200MHz to all the way up to 16 GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM, also you will be able to decide if you want soldered RAM or selectable memory.
While for storage you can configure from 128 GB PCIe SSD to all the way up to 1 TB PCIe SSD. On the connectivity front, there’s the Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 802.11AX (2 x 2) along with Bluetooth 5.1 support. Also, there’s a 720p HD webcam, TPM 2.0 chip for security and a 3 Cell Li-Polymer 50Wh battery which can be charged via 65watt AC adapter.
It also has a backlit spill-resistant keyboard and for ports, you get 2 x USB 3.1 Gen 1 (1 always on) 2 x USB-C (DisplayPort, Data Transfer, Power Delivery), MicroSD card reader, Optional: Smart card reader, Headphone/mic combo, HDMI 2.0 and RJ45 Ethernet.
ThinkPad T14sÂ
Most of the specs remain same as the ThinkPad T14, with same 14.0-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS anti-glare display with 250 nits of peak brightness and optional 300 nits touchscreen panel or 400 nits low power screen as well.
Obviously, you can choose between AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 4650U and Ryzen 7 PRO 4750U processors as well but if you choose the latter then you get up to 32 GB DDR4 3200MHz memory support, on the other hand, with Ryzen 5 you are stuck up to 16GB RAM only, also do note you get only soldered RAM so keep that in mind.
For storage also you can configure from 128 GB to 1 TB PCIe SSD and there’s both Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 802.11AX (2 x 2) along with Bluetooth 5.1 support as well. The ThinkPad T14s also has an HD webcam, TPM 2.0 chip and 3 Cell Li-Polymer 57Wh battery for longer battery lives. Keyboard and ports remain almost the same as the ThinkPad T14.
Coming to pricing the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 starts at $1,319 while the Lenovo ThinkPad T14s has a base price of $1,529, which you can configure and order, shipping gets done in one business day if it’s pre-configured while customized ones take around 5-7 business days for shipping.
