India vs Bangladesh Test 1 Day 3: Match Highlights

Bangladesh was struggling to follow on after the ending of the second day’s play in the first test against India at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram at 133 for 8. India had earlier posted 404 runs in the first innings. Cheteshwar Pujara, Shreyas Iyer, and Ravichandran Ashwin’s half-centuries helped the team reach this total. Shubman Gill scored his maiden Test ton while Cheteshwar Pujara ended his four-year drought to hit his 19th century. Pujara was able to start slowly because to Gill’s aggressive batting. He picked up speed as the Indian innings came to a close since he had 13 boundaries to show for his efforts. Gill should count himself lucky since the on-field umpires twice decided that he was leg-before, but DRS determined that it was not an out. India dismissed the hosts for 150 runs in just 55.5 overs and skipper KL Rahul decided to go against the follow-on. Gill and Pujara played their best against Bangladesh’s bowling attack as their lead pacer Ebadot Hossain was unavailable due to a back injury. Indian spinners Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav, and Axar Patel will try their best on the fourth and fifth days to ensure that they get the WTC points for the team. Najmul Hossain Shanto’s 25* and Zakir Hasan’s 17* improved Bangaladesh’s account. Kuldeep Yadav bagged his third five-wicket haul as the day progressed. Mehidy played the maximum number of balls (82) but he became a victim of Axar Patel.
