Robert Lewandowski has finally scored his first goal at a World Cup. The Barcelona striker scored the second goal for Poland in their 2-0 win against Saudi Arabia. And an emotional celebration followed for the veteran, despite having achieved so much in his illustrious career.

The win sent Poland to the top of their World Cup group. They have earned four points, having drawn with Mexico in their first game. And now, the knockout stages are almost in their sight.

The forward missed a penalty in the game against Mexico, which was an amazing chance for him to open his World Cup account. But a save from Memo Ochoa denied him his first goal at the tournament.

However, this time, Robert Lewandowski was able to find the back of the net and end his goal drought. He also provided the assist for the opener, supplying Piotr Zielinski after being unable to put it away himself.

In order to qualify, Poland need only a point against Argentina to make the Round of 16 for the first time since 1986. On the other hand, Saudi Arabia will have to depend on the result between Argentina and Mexico to learn what they need to do to qualify.
