He was also one of the top batters in the T20 World Cup in Australia where he scored a total of 239 runs at an average of 59.75 at a strike rate of 189.68. He even mustered the fifties against South Africa, Zimbabwe, and the Netherlands.
In this game, Deepak Hooda scalped three wickets in the 19th over and had a mind-blowing figure of 4/0 in 2.5 overs. tim Southee from New Zealand also got the hat trick on this day. The pacer dismissed Hardik Pandya, Deepak Hooda, and Washington Sundar in the last over.
The men in blue bundled out New Zealand for just 126 runs. Kane Williamson was the top scorer of the tournament who mustered 61 runs off 52 deliveries. There was rain in the middle but there was no further interruption.
