Troll: Everything We Know About the Norwegian Survival drama film

Netflix unveils the new trailer of the Norwegian fantasy action film, ‘Troll‘ The story inspired by local folklore, Troll depicts an epic tale of human survival in the face of such giant odds. While a mythical troll reawakens after the 1000-year slumber a full cast of diverse characters set to figure out a way to believe it, survive it, and almost foolishly, combat for it.

The new trailer has not directly unveiled the source of the devastation. For the first few seconds might be reminded the viewers of Roland Emmerich’s classic disaster movies, as we can see the destruction that the troll set to leave in the wake. After the archeologist Nora Tidemann become appointed as a special advisor for the desperate Prime Minister, the tale starts to take a form.

Nora says, “Something came out of the mountain,” we can see an overhead shot of her walking across a massive footprint the size of an Olympic size swimming pool when “In the Gall of the Mountain King” playing in the background. We have a piece of music perfectly unlocks the vibe of the trailer that has been forbidding as quite playful.

The large-scale action reminiscent of the MonsterVerse films, collaborated with some light-hearted banter in between creature design, teases such a Kaiju film that seems like an awful lot of fun. Uthaug depicts the epic Norwegian disaster film The Wave, but American audiences might know of him as the director of 2018’s Tomb Raider reboot.

Troll is like a big comeback for Uthaug, and not only just he is back working in his home country after a brief Hollywood detour. The Ominous tone, the widescreen vistas of the landscape, along with the ensemble approach that we can watch some glimpses of in the trailer are very reminiscent of The Wave. Now, the natural disaster of the film has been replaced with a more fantastical one this time around, as the original Godzilla.

Troll: Cast

The film features Ine Marie Wilmann, Kim S. Falck-Jorgensen, Mads Sjogard Petterson, and Gard B. Eldsvold.

Troll: Release Date

The Norwegian film will hit Netflix on 1st December 2022.
