The Ministry of Information Technology finally bans a total of 59 mobile apps irrespective of the OS platforms and web-version usability. All the apps belong to Chinese companies. The job is done under section 69A of the Information Technology Act that reads the Information Technology Rules 2009 for blocking access of Information by Public.
In total 59 apps are banned “in view of information available they are engaged in activities which is prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order.
As the news comes out, a majority of the Indians are thanking the Indian government, through social media, for this step. Besides plenty of memes join in the market to make fun of TikTok as well as the other Chinese apps. On the other hand, the YouTube vs TikTok hype triggered back.
