According to the sources, Apple this week unveiled two iPad Pro (2022) versions with 12.9-inch and 11-inch displays in India. These newest tablets are powered by an Apple M2 CPU. A 16-inch iPad Pro model may be in the works for the Cupertino-based tech titan.
New iPad from Apple
This new, larger tablet is expected to debut in the fourth quarter of 2023. Apple appears to be attempting to obfuscate the line between a tablet and a laptop with this model. Notably, the rumored iPad Pro will have a screen that is the same size as the 16-inch MacBook Pro that was released last year.
Based on the sources, it claims that the company’s largest iPad Pro model to date, the 16-inch device is being developed by Apple. This device may debut in the fourth quarter of 2023, according to the report. According to rumors, this Apple tablet is intended for creative professions like graphic designers and illustrators.
This large device might be positioned by Apple as a laptop alternative. The Stage Manager function that was added to macOS 13 has early examples of this technique. It is designed to harmonize the user interfaces of the MacBook and iPad.
About the Modified Version
There are rumors that Apple is creating a modified version of the macOS just for the upcoming iPad Pro devices. It is now being worked on as “Mendocino,” and the release of macOS 14 is anticipated for next year.
Mark Gurman hinted that a dock for iPad Pro devices might also be on the horizon in his weekly Power On newsletter. Rumor has it that it is intended to function as a smart display when used with this device. Also, possibly included with this dock are speakers.
Furthermore, Gurman had previously asserted that Apple may release a model with a screen between 14 and 15 inches in size.
These reports could be an indication that Apple will release 14-inch and 16-inch Pro devices given that it already sells 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro versions. The M2 chip, Wi-Fi 6E, an Apple Pencil hover function, support for ProRes video recording, and a few other minor updates were just added to the iPad Pro by Apple last week.
