AMD has already launched its new 5 nm-based Ryzen 7000 series processors for desktops and now it obviously has plans to introduce laptops as well. Considering its years of launch cycle, we could safely expect these new mobile Ryzen 7000 chips could be announced at CES 2022.
As we all know, AMD has announced the Mendocino APUs under its Ryzen 7000 series with Zen 2 cores and RDNA2 graphics, the new leak of the upcoming Ryzen 5 7530U confirms AMD won’t eliminate its highly successful Zen 3 as well. This is not AMD’s new attitude because to manage prices and offer more value-for-money products and a broad lineup, they have offered multiple generations of mobile chips in say a new generation.
The same happened with Ryzen 5000, and 6000 and it seems to be continued in Ryzen 7000 which is touted to bring Zen 4 to mobile. Fortunately, a new 6-core Ryzen 5 7530U has now been spotted over at the SiSoftware website by none other than @momomo_us, used in ASRock’s new industrial Mini-PC 4×4 series that could receive an early update as soon as AMD launches.
This AMD Ryzen 5 7530U has a base clock speed of 2.0 GHz along with 512Kb L2 cache and 16MB L3 cache, this confirms this APU is either a Zen 3 or Zen 3+ refresh, most probably the latter one. The upcoming Ryzen 7000U series should be the first one to sport three architectures for a wider market which needs various options at different pricing.
