India U17 picked up a third consecutive win in the Asian Cup Qualifiers, defeating Myanmar U17 4-1. The game was played on Friday at Al Khobar.
There were few major chances created during the initial part of the first half, with both sides struggling to get things going on the attacking front. India were able to get the first shot on target only 20 minutes into the game. But shortly after, the Blues had the lead thanks to a free kick from captain Vanlalpeka Guite.

In the span of 12 more minutes, India would find the back of the net three more times. As a result going into the break leading by 4-0 and the match hanging in their favour.
Thanglalsoun Gangte scored two more goals, as India cruised to win. However, they were not able to keep a clean sheet as Myanmar were able to pull one back. Htoo Wai Yan’s deflected shot found the back of the net in the second half even though India were on the offense.
Gangte thought he had his hat-trick in the 70th minute, but his goal was ruled out for offside. India U17 will now take on hosts Saudi Arabia on Sunday in an attempt to confirm their place in the tournament finals.
