The Women in Blue led won against England by 16 runs at Lord’s. The match was the last one for ace pacer Jhulan Goswami. Goswami is a pacer from West Bengal and is considered to be one of the best players from India. She ended her two-decade career with numerous awards and records attached to her name. She’s also the highest wicket-taker in Women’s ODIs.

The visitors defeated the hosts by 16 runs in the 3rd and final women’s ODI. India sweeped the series 3-0 for the very first time on Saturday. India had to bat first, couldn’t score more than 169 and it seemed difficult to win but they finally managed the victory.

India lost an array of wickets at regular intervals and were all put in 45.4 overs at Lords. All-rounder Deepti Sharma was a top-scorer for the visitors, scoring 68 runs in 106 deliveries. Smriti Mandhana was next in the line and made 50 runs off 79 deliveries. For England bowlers, medium pacer Kate Cross had a very good figure of 4/36 while Freya Kemp and Sophie Ecclestone picked two wickets.

England had a small target to achieve for ODI however, their top-order didn’t perform well and all got out for 153 runs in just 43.3 overs. Charlie Dean is the top-scorer from England with 47, and the skipper Amy Jones mustered 28 runs.

In Jhulan Goswami’s farewell match, she picked two wickets while Renuka Singh picked four, and Rajeshwari Gayakad got two wickets.
