Even though Red Dead Redemption 2 is almost 4 years old, it is still one of the most visually stunning games available. Red Dead Redemption 2 is also still very demanding when playing on PC at its highest settings.

Having said that, the game now officially supports FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0, so anyone looking to get more RDR2 performance out of their systems has a new official choice.

RDR2 already had support for the open-source FSR 2.0 thanks to a fan mod, but if you don’t want to tinker with the game’s source code, you can now just download an official patch. Additionally, RDR2 formally supports NVIDIA’s rival DLSS technology.

About the Version 1.31 Patch Notes

The section of the Red Dead Redemption 2 version 1.31 patch notes devoted to new PC functionality is available here. Additionally, the game will support Reflex and have better temporal anti-aliasing.

  • Reflex has been implemented to reduce lag on the gamepad only. People who use a keyboard and mouse to play do not need to worry about this.
  • Improvements have been made to Temporal Anti-Aliasing (TAA)
  • AMD FidelityX Super Resolution (FSR) 2.0 has been implemented

The following new features and content have also been added to consoles and PC:

  • Players can now launch Telegrams from both the Player Menu and the Camp
  • A link to the credits has been added to the Pause Menu
  • Three new Hardcore Co-op Telegrams have been added to Red Dead Online:
  • In Bad Faith (1-4 Players) – Capture the 7th Generation members and bring them to Skelding’s man
  • Strong Medicine (1-4 Players) – Steal the 7th Generation supplies and bring them to Skelding’s man
  • Sow and Reap (1-4 Players) – Find the 7th Generation leader, bring him to Skelding’s man

Red Dead Online’s three existing Telegram Missions have one new location added to them:

  • A One-Horse Deal
  • Rich Pickings
  • Outrider

Red Dead Online’s two existing Showdown Modes now have four more locations:

  • Hostile Territory
  • Sport of Kings

Red Dead Redemption 2 and Rockstar

Since Red Dead Online support is expected to end soon and it appears unlikely that RDR2 will ever be released on a next-generation console, it is encouraging to see that at least some support is still being provided.

The typical assortment of bug patches and tiny adjustments are also included in Red Dead Redemption 2 version 1.31; if you’re interested in learning more, you can read the full, unedited patch notes right here. Currently accessible on PC, Xbox One, and PS4, Red Dead Redemption 2 is also playable on Xbox Series X/S and PS5 thanks to backward compatibility.
