Manchester United have been linked with a move for Adrien Rabiot of Juventus. The player only has one year remaining on his current deal with Juventus. He wasn’t included in their pre-season tour and was training with the U23s of the club either, which suggests that he isn’t a part of Max Allegri’s plans.
Frenkie de Jong has been the main target in midfield for Manchester United this summer. But it seems more and more likely that the Dutchman won’t be moving to Old Trafford this summer. And as a result, United are looking elsewhere to add to their squad.
Adrien Rabiot linked with Manchester United move
The Frenchman is yet to agree personal terms for a move to the Premier League. But, it has been reported by several outlets that the initial phase of a transfer is in motion.
If Juventus don’t let go of the player this summer, then they will be forced to let him go for free next year. A contract renewal for Adrien Rabiot looks unlikely, with the Bianconeri keen to trim their squad.
They already have a number of options in midfield, with Denis Zakaria, Arthur, Weston McKennie and Manuel Locatelli also at the club. Paul Pogba is out injured until next year, and Juventus were expected to keep Rabiot at the club as a result. But if a good offer arrives from United, they might be happy to offload the player this summer itself.
