1. David Warner (Australia)
David Warner is one of the best openers, though he’s 35 years old the Australian team has full faith in the calibre of the batter. He played the Test series against Sri Lanka and also scored winning runs for the team. He mustered 266 runs in seven Test matches and is at number 17 in the ICC Test Batting Rankings.
2. Rohit Sharma (India)
Rohit Sharma, 35 years old is currently leading India in every format. His rank in the Tests is ninth in ICC Batting Rankings. He played his last Test in Bengaluru. So far, he has played 45 Test matches. In his 13 Test matches, he piled 996 runs at an average of 15.27. Fans can see him next on the West Indies tour for five T20Is.
3. Dean Elgar (South Africa)
Dean Elgar, aged 25 is the oldest skipper of the South African Test team. His debut was in November 2012 against Australia in Perth and he has appeared in 76 matches. As a skipper, he mustered 881 runs at an average of 41.95. He’s the highest in the South African team.
4. James Anderson (England)
James Anderson will be stepping into his 40s in a few days but still is one of the best cricketers in the current lot. He made his debut in 2003 and played a total of 172 matches and 657 scalps. In the year 2022, he played four test matches and picked 18 wickets at an average of 22.16 and sta rike rate of 51.8.
5. Neil Wagner (New Zealand)
The Kiwi cricketer made his debut in the year 2012 and since then, he played 59 Test matches. Wanger is a one-format player, who ranks ninth in the Test format as per ICC Bowling Rankings. He has picked 246 wickets in his Test career at an average of 26.71.
6. Azhar Ali (Pakistan)
Azahar Ali, aged 40 made his Test debut in July 2010 against Australia and has appeared in 95 matches since then. He has scored 7,030 runs at an average of 42.60 with 19 centuries and 35 fifties. He’s the only player from Pakistan to have four triple centuries.
7. Angelo Mathews (Sri Lanka)
Angelo Mathews is a batter as well as a fast bowler. He made his debut in 2009 and ever since he played 99 Test matches. He has scored 6,876 runs at an average of 45.23 consisting of 13 centuries and 38 fifties. His total scalps in Test format is 33.
8. Kemar Roach (West Indies)
Kemar Roach from West Indies aged 34, is a pacer making his Test debut in 2009. He’s the highest-ranked bowler from WI and on the eighth list in ICC Test rankings. In the year 2022, he scalped 21 wickets in five Test matches at an average of 22.57.
9. Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh)
Shakib AL Hasan, aged 35 is one of the best all-rounders in every format and the oldest cricketer in the Bangladesh Test squad. He made his debut in 2007 in May and since then has been a part of 63 matches. He picked 225 wickets and is also the highest wicket-taker from Bangladesh. He scored 4,251 runs at an average of 39.00 with five centuries and 29 half centuries.
