Tottenham are stepping up their pursuit of Roma attacking midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo this summer. The player has been linked with a move to Juventus over the last few weeks, and the Bianconeri are in talks with Roma over a potential move.
A fee around €45 million has been quoted for Zaniolo, which Juventus are unwilling to match as of right now. As a result of the transfer being in limbo, Spurs director of football Fabio Paratici is eyeing a move for another Serie A for his side.
Nicolo Zaniolo could make surprise move to Tottenham
The Italian has been linked with a move to Tottenham in the past, but that has resulted in nothing yet. However, with Fabio Paratici and Antonio Conte at the club, this summer could be different.
That said, Spurs have already spent a considerable amount in the transfer market. As a result, a big money move for another attacking player might be a little too far fetched. But, Jose Mourinho is open to Nicolo Zaniolo leaving the club this summer regardless of the suitor.
The 23-year-old has struggled with injuries over the last two seasons, which has limited his development and impact on the pitch. But in spite of these issues, he is seen as a top talent. And Paratici might beat his old club to the signature of the Italian if they can reach an agreement with the Giallorossi before Juventus.
