For the next four years, Cricket Australia’s (CA) media rights have been returned to Star Sports. The agreement, which has a provision to extend it by an extra four years, is said to have been signed by the parties. Sony presently holds the Australian cricket rights.

The Star Sports Group just spent a staggering 23,575 crores to get the broadcasting rights for the 2023–2027 season of the Indian Premier League. For the aforementioned cost, Star Sports acquired Package A, which covers five years of television rights to the competition.

The rights to broadcast Cricket Australia matches have now been acquired by the Star India organization, which has grown. According to a source, the deal for TV and internet rights goes into force with the following season. However, a CA spokesman said, “nothing we can say on the record on that at the moment. I’ll let you know if that changes.”

All India games played in Australia, the Ashes series, and the Big Bash League will all be aired on Star starting with the 2019 season. Additionally, it will broadcast every home game played by India. The T20 World Cup in 2022, the ODI World Cup in 2023, The Ashes, international matches played by Australia and South Africa, the Indian Premier League (IPL), and both the men’s and women’s Big Bash Leagues (BBL) are all part of it.

Australia will host three home series during the 2023–25 World Test Championship cycle, one each against Pakistan, West Indies, and India. India, on the other side, will play New Zealand, England, and Bangladesh at home.
