Ousmane Dembele’s renewal with Barcelona seems to be only a matter of time. The winger was photographed in the dressing room today with his Barca teammates, after completing the medical at Ciudad Deportiva.

The Frenchman will be signing a deal until 2024, and will also be accepting a pay cut worth at least 40% to continue with the Spanish side. PSG were expected to try and sign him, but have decided to not pursue him this summer. Chelsea were also rumoured, but made no advances to recruit him despite Thomas Tuchel being an admirer of the player.

The contract status only needs to be given the green light by Barcelona before it is made official. Since Dembele’s last contract ran out, he will have to be registered as a new player under La Liga rulings. So, it will be a little more complicated than a renewal of his old deal.

Barcelona are also set to sign Raphinha from Leeds United alongside Ousmane Dembele. Xavi wanted Dembele to continue, after performing extremely well in the latter half of the season. And now, after many meetings, it seems that his contract saga is over.

The Spanish side are set to confirm the arrival of Raphinha once Leeds have officially accepted the bid for the player. However, their quest to sign Robert Lewandowski remains a doubt so far, with the Poland captain now returning to training with Bayern Munich.
