At the end of his first season at his return to the English Premier League club Manchester United, the Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly earned a six-figure bonus.
The 37-year-old Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo returned to Manchester United last August after suddenly leaving the Italian giants Juventus. Though Man United had one of their worst seasons during last season, including managing the worst points in their Premier League history, Ronaldo maintained his strong status as a player.
Detailed reports of Cristiano Ronaldo’s lucrative bonus
According to the recent report in The Sun, Ronaldo received a six-figure bonus after completing the first season of his present two-year contract with Man United. That report also claimed that Ronaldo was handed that lucrative bonus just before his reported decision to look for a potential transfer this summer.
According to the insider information of that report, that large bonus was not a part of the loyalty bonus. That report also claimed that Ronaldo’s that six-figure bonus was part of “various image rights and payouts for hitting goalscoring targets”.
Cristiano Ronaldo was on top form despite Manchester United’s struggle
Cristiano Ronaldo scored 24 goals in the last season for Manchester United. Only his national teammate Bruno Fernandes managed the other double-digit score for the English club last season as the midfielder scored 10 goals. Though United finished in the sixth position in the PL 2021/22, Ronaldo finished that competition as the third most goal-scorer with 18 goals.
Recently, the media reports strongly claimed that Ronaldo expressed his massive disappointment towards the club due to a lack of strong approach in the ongoing summer transfer window. While he has reportedly requested the club to consider his transfer in the case of any strong bid, the Red Devils have clarified that the Portuguese is not for sale this summer.
Currently, Manchester United are ready to begin their pre-season campaign on the Thailand tour, but Ronaldo has extended his leave citing a family issue.
In the meantime, the new Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag has just confirmed that Ronaldo is in his plan for the new season. Earlier, Ronaldo also showed his excitement about the new club manager.
