After the Men in Blue were beaten by England in the third T20I on Sunday at Trent Bridge, Team India captain Rohit Sharma just missed Ricky Ponting’s world record for the most consecutive victories as captain at 20.
Rohit Sharma remained unbeaten in 19 straight games after succeeding Virat Kohli as India’s permanent captain, but that incredible streak came to an end as India lost the third T20I match against England by 17 runs.
In addition, Rohit had won 14 straight T20 International matches while serving as captain, but that winning streak also ended with the loss to England. The third and final game of the series was lost by India by 17 runs after they egregiously fell short of the necessary total of 216 runs.
Team India put up a valiant fight, but despite Suryakumar Yadav’s 55-ball 117-run innings, the Men in Blue fell short, losing the T20I series 2-1 despite their best efforts.

Dawid Malan scored a magnificent 77 off 39 balls as England destroyed India’s backup attack to declare at a whopping 215 for seven.
While chasing the enormous mark, Suryakumar (117 off 55 balls) kept India in the game with a masterful performance, while other batsmen failed to provide help. India’s innings was concluded after 20 overs with 198 for 9.
India prevailed in Southampton and Birmingham to win the three-game series 2-1.
